Anna Burhouse is the Director of Quality for the West of England Academic Health Science Network. Anna leads on the Quality Improvement programmes, Evidence into Practice and Evidence into Commissioning and is supported by the Quality Improvement Team.

Anna is a Health Foundation Improvement Fellow, a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, an Ashridge Business School alumni and has 25 years’ experience of working in Health, Education and Social Care.

Throughout her career, Anna has specialised in roles which combine clinical and leadership skills to improve the quality and safety of services. Anna has been using quality improvement science in her work for the past twelve years, with a strong emphasis on the importance of service user and carer involvement in the co-production of services. Anna recently lead a Health Foundation Shine award “Coaching for Recovery” co-designing an educational approach to recovery for adults with long term health conditions and she is currently adapting this work to serve the needs of young people hoping to run the UK’s first Youth Recovery College in her spare time this autumn.
