Stroke Association signs up to QiC Anticoagulation

Quality in Care (QiC) Anticoagulation added another name to its list of supporters with the news that the Stroke Association is backing the programme.

The Stroke Association joins the patient organisation AntiCoagulation Europe (ACE) and the healthcare company Bayer Healthcare as a supporter of QiC Anticoagulation – a new programme to recognise, reward and share good practice in the prevention and treatment of blood clots.

Anticoagulation covers a range of conditions, including deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE) and atrial fibrillation – a heart condition associated with an increased risk of stroke.

QiC Anticoagulation follows similar programmes in cancer and diabetes and comprises an awards event to recognise the teams behind anticoagulation management, education and patient care, as well as further opportunities to share this practice throughout the UK.

Entries are invited from UK based organisations: the NHS and other healthcare systems, the pharmaceutical industry and patient associations/charities.

The entry deadline is Friday June 27, 2014. Find out how to enter.
