QiC to showcase innovative practice at Diabetes UK Professional Conference

We invite delegates registered for the Diabetes UK Professional Conference 2017 to join us at the QiC Diabetes symposium on Thursday 9 March from 13:20 - 14:20 in Charter 3

Quality in Care will showcase innovation in practice at an event at next month's Diabetes UK Professional Conference 2017 in Manchester.

The one-hour symposium at the Manchester Central Convention Complex will be chaired by Dr Parijat De from Sandwell & West Birmingham NHS Trust and cover several of the projects recognised at the 2016 QiC Diabetes awards.

First up will be a case study of HeLP-Diabetes, an online solution for diabetes self-management support, by the head of University College London's primary care and population health research department Prof Elizabeth Murray.

She will be followed by Dr Mihirani Balapatabendi, a consultant paediatrician from Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust who will present on dedicated annual review clinics for children with type 1 diabetes.

Finally, Investing in Children CIC's project worker Chloe Brown will talk about expanding the Type 1 Kidz Project and its introduction of simple telehealth services.

Proceedings will then be wrapped up with a Q&A session moderated by consultant physician Dr De, himself recognised at QiC Diabetes 2016 as Diabetes Healthcare Professional of the Year.
