Confidentiality
All judges will sign a confidentiality agreement prior to appointment. As the organisers of the QiC Dermatology awards PMGroup also undertakes to adhere to the confidentiality agreements.
The judging process
Each entry will be reviewed by a multidisciplinary panel of leading experts in dermatology.
There are six different entry categories and one nomination category.
The submissions must be well thought through with clear method, objectives, results, sustainability and conclusions that are specifically related to the aim of the initiative. Work should have a demonstrable impact on clinical practice, showing how innovation can contribute to the optimisation of service delivery, ultimately benefiting people with skin conditions.
Entries without results may be marked down.
Judges will favour projects that demonstrate evidence having quality and/or efficiency benefits which could be replicated elsewhere, thereby having a greater impact than their initial focus.
Once the entry deadline has passed, all submissions will be reviewed by the judging panel. Finalists will be announced after the judging day on 15th June and invited to the awards ceremony.
Pre-scoring the entries
Once the entries have submitted via the online entry platform, judges will have access to the relevant categories they are reviewing.
Each judge will review and score the entries based on the criteria specific to that category. It is important for entrants to realise that, at this stage, decisions will be based on the content of the written submission only. Judges will not have access to supporting materials until the second round of judging at group judging day.
Group judging day
On Thursday 15th June the judges will meet in their groups to compare first round scores and discuss entries within their specific categories in detail. It is at this stage that supporting materials will be available and taken into consideration. Following rigorous discussion, the judges select the finalists, make commendations (where appropriate) and identify the results for their categories.
Judging criteria
While scoring entries, the judges will allocate marks according to the specific criteria defined for each category. Details of these can be found in the individual category descriptions and on the online entry platform. Please ensure that you refer to these when writing your submission to ensure you are fully aware of what specific information the judges will be looking for and how they will be scoring.
The judging panels reserve the right to disqualify or move entries into alternative categories from those originally entered, if they deem it applicable. The organisers will advise you if this is the case.
