Sister Heather Kirker

Sister Kirker has worked within the dermatology nursing service for over 34 years. She has been at the forefront of nursing innovation and development within the service, ensuring a person-centred approach to patient care. Sister Kirker has led on a number of nursing advances within the service, this is inclusive of registered nurses and nursing assistants. Sister Kirker has inspired and supported multiple nursing assistants to undertake a sponsored nursing degree via The Open University. She is an inspirational leader and deserves recognition of her nursing contribution.

Sister Kirker has increased the knowledge and skill set of Dermatology nurses for over 34 years. Her work has greatly improved Red Flag waiting times for patients with possible skin cancers alongside developing the first nurse in Northern Ireland with a specialist interest in genital Dermatology. Sister Kirker continues to inspire the next generation of Dermatology nurses in Northern Ireland.
