Quality in Care Hepatitis C programme open for entry

The Quality in Care (QiC) Hepatitis C programme is now open for entry to recognise the work carried out by healthcare professionals who improve care for hepatitis C patients in the UK.

The programme is supported in 2015 by Bristol-Myers-Squibb and Gilead, as well as HCV Action, The Hepatitis C Trust, and Liver4Life.

The awards presentation will be held in September. The latest data from the Department of Health show that 214,000 people in the UK have a chronic infection with hepatitis C, indicating the need for best care for these patients has never been higher.

Last year’s winners included NHS Tayside for its work providing access treatment for people who inject drugs, and Dundee CHP for its work with patients with blood borne virus in Dundee.

The deadline for entries is June 18.
